Questions
The things people ask first.
Is this genuinely CrowdStrike?
Yes. You get the CrowdStrike Falcon agent and your own Falcon console. We supply it through CrowdStrike's service provider programme and look after ordering, billing, set-up and first-line support.
We already have Microsoft Defender. Why change?
Defender for Business is a capable product and comes with Microsoft 365 Business Premium. The difference with Falcon is the people: CrowdStrike's threat hunters on Defend Plus, and CrowdStrike's 24/7 response team on Complete. If nobody in your business watches Defender's alerts, that is the gap. A fair comparison.
Do we need our own IT person?
On Defend and Defend Plus, someone has to act on alerts: you, a staff member or your IT provider. If nobody will, choose Complete and CrowdStrike's team responds for you.
Is there a contract or minimum?
No minimum number of devices and no annual contract. It runs month to month: cancel from your control panel and protection runs to the end of that month.
What about the July 2024 CrowdStrike outage?
A faulty content update from CrowdStrike crashed millions of Windows machines worldwide. CrowdStrike published a full root cause analysis and changed how updates are tested and released. We think you should know about it, and we are happy to talk it through. More detail.
